Missing a buy now, pay later installment is stressful — especially when the purchase was for tickets you have been looking forward to. The consequences depend entirely on which lender you selected at checkout, not on TicketLater. TicketLater completed the ticket sale; the lender manages due dates, reminders, late fees, and account restrictions. This guide covers what happens per provider and what to do in the next 24 hours.

What to do right now if you just missed a payment

  1. Open the lender app immediately. Do not wait for a second missed due date — late fees stack and account freezes tighten with each miss.
  2. Pay the overdue installment. Most providers let you pay manually even if autopay failed. Check whether your linked card expired or has insufficient funds — that is the most common cause.
  3. Confirm the next due date. Paying the missed installment does not always shift future dates — verify the remaining schedule in the app.
  4. Contact the lender if the event was cancelled. If you missed a payment because the event cancelled and you are awaiting a TicketLater refund, tell the lender — some providers pause collections during refund processing, but only if you proactively notify them with your refund request confirmation.
  5. Do not contact TicketLater for due date changes. TicketLater cannot move installments, waive lender fees, or edit BNPL schedules.

Hardship and deferral options

Afterpay: Offers payment date changes in the app for upcoming installments (not retroactive for already-missed ones). Contact support for hardship review if you cannot pay within 48 hours of the miss.

Klarna: May offer payment extensions or rescheduling through the app depending on region and account standing. Repeated extensions are not guaranteed.

Affirm: Does not charge late fees but may report delinquency. Contact Affirm support to discuss modified payment arrangements on longer-term plans.

Zip: Contact Zip support through the app for overdue balance resolution options.

Does a missed BNPL payment affect future TicketLater checkout?

No. A missed payment with Afterpay does not block your next TicketLater purchase with a credit card, and it does not remove BNPL options globally from TicketLater checkout. It may prevent you from selecting the same lender until your account is current — but a different lender may still appear if Stripe enables it for your next order. TicketLater has no visibility into your lender account standing.
